  Funky atmosphere adds to the enjoyment. Ordered the special turkey burger with greenbean fries. Both tasty!

  So, my friends and I along with our children are local to the mountain. We made reservations because knowing they closed early on Sundays we didn't want to just show up with our group of 8. We figured if they didn't want our group they would tell us they didn't take reservations after a certain time. We told them it would be 4 children and 4 adults. When we got there we were kindly greater by an elderly gentleman... (who by the way was very pleasant, I feel bad that our experience was rough and he was nice since this is a "bad" review)
  Immediately the waitress had a scowl on her face and treated us as though we just ruined her day. She sat the men, while us mom's took our 4 small children. To the restroom. 1 restroom makes a long wait for 6 people. She took the drink orders and tried to order the food while only 2 people were sitting, the men told her they were waiting for the moms and the kids. She said well you better hurry we close soon (yet again. We had reservationsome for that time, if they didn't want the business they should have turned us down.) We got the kids all situated and she came back and got two of the kids orders and before the rest of us even got to order, one of our kids drinks got spilled. Not from rough housing, not from being loud or obnoxious, but apparently that didn't matter. We were cleaning it up ourselves when the waitress came over and very rudely told our children to move they were done...my son very politely said , "may I have another root beer please?" Her response was very rude and with attitude she said " that depends are you going to spill it again?" I said ma'am, he didn't spill it and it was an accident." She said "I don't care who's fault it was I don't have time for this!" So I said "would you rather us leave? Would that be better for you"? She mumbled something under her breath and I said "excuse me, what did you say"? (Mind you she's sweeping under the chair im sitting in as to how close she is to me) she said " that works too!" My response was ma'am just so you know we had reservations, it's not like we just walked in Off the street 40 min before closing time!!" I looked at my friend and we decided to leave. Oh, but they made us pay for the drinks that no one even got to drink!
  I am a chef, I have never ever walked out of a restaurant before... when my food is wrong I don't even complain, unless is has the one foods in it I'm allergic to then I just kindly ask for something else or have it made the way I originally ordered it. I'm simple and hate confrontation at a restaurant. All four of us adults have been in the restaurant business at some point, we all know there are bad days or end of day hardships, but we tip very well and well, we probably could have made her day a little better... but instead we got insulted and they got bad reviews... I'm sorry to the owner of this very cute diner. I've been wanting to go for a very long time. My parents are regulars and I was excited to try it. I'm sorry to the elderly man who was so kind,BUT We should not have had to pay for the drinks we didn't get to drink, and my friend was over charged for theirs. I wish our visit to our favorite little town could have been more pleasant. We did end up going to Molly Butlers for dinner.. they treated us amazing.... and they didn't even know about our terrible experience down the road unail we were finished as we thanked them for bringing light back In our day.

  This place is a real gem! Great food and Great service. The unique decor is a time travel machine - spent more time reading the walls and looking at pictures while reliving history then I did eating!
